the national holiday to hold such a service. with 5,000 marylanders currently serving in iraq and afghanistan. smith spoke of the debt we owe them and their families. >> we know these soldiers as mothers and fathers, sons and daughters friends and neighbors and husbands and wives. but they are so much more than that. they are individuals who have answered a higher call. >> the keynote speaker said it's a fitting veteran's day following the general election to remind us of the things that matter the most such as our freedom ongoing sacrifice they make to defend that freedom. ten men and women who serve our country received their u. s. citizenship today.

income neighborhoods were three times more likely than buyers in wealthier upper class neighborhoods to receive a high cost fha mortgage. african americans latinos were twice as likely as whites to buy a home with a mortgage. they are calling for an investigation. >> the next step really is, you know, hud and the department of justice investigating this information. you know, we're not saying why this is happening we're just saying this is happening, and you know, because there is such disparate it's potentially a huge problem. so the next step really is hud which oversees the fha program and department of justice launching a real study an investigation as to why this

maryland coast. partly to mostly cloudy today from the outer reaches of that storm but nothing into the central or western part of the state. and other than that extremely quiet weather up and down the middle part of the east coast. dry weather, high pressure continuing to push in, and women steadily see this area of low pressure slide further south as we go into the day tomorrow. fur forecast get the last bit of that cloud cover out of here maybe just a little bit of partly cloudy skies toward ocean city. but most of the state is going to be under beautiful blue skies great looking weather again for veteran's day. friday first day of the weekend. more sunshine, another dry, sunny looking day. need the sunglasses all week and into the weekend. overnight 38, mostly clear it gets chilly out there late and then for our veteran's day 60 degrees mostly sunny, beautiful day, very seasonable weather, and just a little bit of a light breeze so it really does look fantastic. tomorrow night quiet and chilly down to 36 degrees mostly clear cool and dry.

1967. the school educates more than 100 students with language disabilities in 1st through 12th grades. >> you want them to understand themselves and their learning disability, you want them secondly because most of the students come in here the self- esteem has been damaged you want them to feel good about themselves. >> reporter: the baltimore lab prides itself on hand on learning no textbooks. teachers want to create a sense of belonging so students will be enthusiastic about learning. >> small class sizes is very important for the students students. they really feel lining they have a strong safety net here. so they can get very comfortable and take risks and be ready to take risks which is very important for students to bring back their level of learning. >> reporter: the school also has speech pathologists and psychologists on hand to help the students. >> we go into the classes. we also see students sometimes in small groups, and we also will see some students one on

one, which is very beneficial to some kids to have that opportunity to work one-on-one. it all depends on the kid. that's what our school is about sort of individualized learning which works best for each child. >> reporter: the baltimore lab school helps students to become an expert in any given area. 11th graders can take advantage of an internship program allows students to work at different jobs in the area. >> try to get students help develop their own self-esteem. many of the students who have learning disabilities but having in experience in high school and placed with someone that is a good supervisor who understands their situation, these kids ends up developing great self-esteem. >> reporter: here are five tips for attending a school with language disability t. pick a school that promotes the joy of learning. second administrators should combine arts into the curriculum. third, finds a school that provides expert speech and
